40 years ago I fell in love with the feel, texture, color, and vibrancy of wool and its ability to be  worked by hand in many mediums.  Over the years I’ve added silk, crushed taffeta, velvet, and silk yarn to complete work that tells a story or represents nature and the beautiful lands we live on and observe.

Some of the fiber techniques I use were developed years ago to make functional items,  bringing warmth and comfort to early homes. Now I’m reworking these techniques to honor the past, but my designs are more contemporary.   In addition I want to raise awareness of environmental and social justice issues in my work.

I use a combination of fibers, contemporary designs, and newer techniques that make my finished pieces both three dimensional and more visually exciting.

I enjoy collaborating with other fiber/textile artists to create pieces that are beautiful and challenge the viewer to think differently.
